Known for my analytical, creative, and interpersonal skills, I am a geographer, artivist and urban gardener interested in the politics of embodied and local practices and their connection to a multiscalar more-than-human ethics of careWorking with relational approaches, I am committed to promoting innovative knowledge and practices for sustainable and diverse spatial interactions through qualitative approaches.

In my PhD, I explored the affective atmospheres surrounding community gardens. For this work, I received the 2023 Student Award and the 2024 President's Award for Best Doctoral Thesis both from the New Zealand Geographical Society. As an acknowledgement of my research outcomes and diffusion, I also received the 2024 Annual Award for New and Emerging Scholars sponsored by Gender, Place & Culture. You can find more details about my work at mtBB.

Sketching, drawing and painting have a special place in my life, side-by-side with writing. For a long time, the artist and the academic walked parallel paths. Now I see how they have always been in dialogue - albeit using different languages. My art has helped me to make sense of my feelings and ideas, while also sparking awareness or curiosity in other people about topics that interest me. Craftivism has also encouraged me to explore innovative non-discursive research methods. I share some of that at mARTe.

I also dedicate myself to urban agriculture and reforestation initiatives around the world. Nowadays, I offer consultancy and workshops on garden design tailored for individuals and organisations. More information about this service will soon be available at ma+ter.

In my current research with the collective Our Colours in Aotearoa, we have been exploring the experiences of Latine migrants in Aotearoa New Zealand through the lenses of critical race theory and feminist geographies, focusing on sensory and emotional aspects.

Arts have also allowed me to collaborate in different artivism collectives, experiences that have enriched my life with significant exchanges and growth. Among threads, lyrics and silences, I have experienced first-hand how the quest for social justice needs to combine the fight for gender, racial and environmental rights. I am currently part of the 2026Women, an initiative to raise awareness and promote solutions to crimes against women.
